Abstract

In this paper

we introduce the concept of a generalized circulant digraph.A necessary and sufficient condition is given for a generalized circulant digraph to be strongly connected.Since a non negative matrix A is irreducible if and only if the digraph of the corresponding (0

1) matrix of A is strongly connected

our condition is also necessary and sufficient for a non negative generalized circulant matrix to be irreducible.
