This paper deals with some results of the morphological and ecological character of Abramis brama orientalis Berg in hongyanchi reservoir

Xinjiang. The main results are as follows: 1. After Abramis brama orientalis Berg entered Hongyanchi reservoir

the differences of form between female and male get smaller than Xian-sea and Buhedarmin reservoir in Soviet Union. The geographical variation show: the body get higher and higher

the head get smaller and smaller. This indicates that Hongyanchi reservoir has the suitable condition of habitat for Abramis brams orientalis berg. 2. The growth and breed of this fish in large water area is better than small water area. 3. Abramis brama orientalis berg has more great ecological adaptability

when the condition of food can not satisfy its demand on the feeding habits

they can adjust its feeding habits to adapt the new habitat environment. 4. The introduction of Abramis brama orientalis Berg is successful

we can plan to introduce this fish into Xinjiang.
