using statistical methods

the warm cold changes for recent 40 years in Yili region in the western of Tianshan mountain are analyzed

the correlation of temperature series among in the region

in near region and in large extent areas are computed

kand several conclusions obtained as follows:1)Regional mean temperature series in Yili region in annual in four seasons have different warm cold stages

change periods and extreme warm cold years.2) The mean temperature series in Yili region in winter

annual and summer have significant warming trend

and warming ration in winter is greatest

but less in annual and in summer.3)For three decades during 1966～1995 in Yili region

the decade temperature in winter and in annual have increased

which mainly agree with that in other regions of Xinjiang.4)The mean temperatures in annual and in four seasons in Yili region have some correlation with that other regions

such as areas in the Northern of Xinjiang

the Southern of Xinjiang

the Eastern of Xijiang

Gansu Province

Qinghai Province

China and Middle Asia.
