This paper introduces briefly the points of similarity between mineral crystals and buildings
and explicates mainly the use of crystal forms in design of external forms of buildings
such as mountain crystal-form building
beryl-form building
tourmaline-form building
twin-crystal-form building
overgrowth-form building
parallel intergrowth-form building
and inlay-form building. Crystal-form building has the following advantages
natural and beautiful moulding
rational structure of mechanics
better anti-seismic property
better natural light and ventilation
economizing on land and building materials
applicable to tall buildings and so on.
