The estimation of single pile capacity is the key to the pile foundation design of the second and third grade buildings. There are corresponding estimation formulate in the domestic "Technical code for building pile foundation" (JGJ94-94) and "Code for design of building foundation" (GB50007-2002). The corresponding estimation formulate are given in abroad textbooks. These formulae are presented and contrasted by two examples of fiction pile in this paper

some conslusions are drawn. The conclusions can be references for engineerers.
