This paper focused on that there is no explicit quantification method for efficiency of residential space used. The actual size interior layout is simulation modeling in the perspective of space volume

and mathematical model is established through statistics and analysis of the space utilization data

then a new method is proposed for computing efficiency of residential space used

which not only provides verification for architect in the residential intensification and refined design

but also provides reference for householders and developers.
